Bahía del Duque hotel, located on the beach of the same name in Tenerife, is inspired by a Canarian colonial villa from the 19th century. Something that can be seen in the architectural style and different pastel colors that have been used. From a distance the hotel truly looks like a castle coming out of a fairytale with palaces and domes.
The hotel complex is large and consists of several buildings, perfect swimming pools and terraces surrounded by beautiful palm trees and flowers, including an iconic clock tower that serves as a good orientation point. The first few hours it is not strange if you completely lose your way. Fortunately, there are maps and you will see that it goes better after a few times walking back and forth. The next day you are going to walk around like a real Bahía del Duque expert.

As soon as you take the elevator from the front desk, located on the fifth floor, all the way down, you will enter a paradise of gardens and swimming pools with walking paths, bridges and majestic staircases that connect everything. There are terraces with comfortable sunbeds that are surrounded by colorful flowers, fountains and tall palm trees. Many swimming pools are connected to each other, making it possible to explore the area while swimming around.
Bahía del Duque hotel Tenerife counts 386 luxurious rooms, 58 suites and 40 villas. That is huge, but you don’t get that feeling when you are there at all. Because of the layout of the hotel, you are always in your own world and you encounter few people. Even when the hotel is fully booked.
The rooms are equipped with all comforts and some even have their own jacuzzi on the balcony. There are rooms at the back of the hotel complex, with a view of the gardens and rooms at the front, most of which have a sea view. And even though you pay a bit more for this, there is nothing like that holiday feeling when you are staring out over the waves of the ocean from your balcony.

There are many all-inclusive resorts on Tenerife, but at Bahía del Duque hotel you can only stay on a bed and breakfast or half-board basis. And that’s a treat, since there are several restaurants to choose from. The Bahía del Duque grounds have eight à la carte restaurants and nine bars. It is recommended to reserve your table in advance, especially if you want to sit outside. You can do this online or at the club house.
It is also good to know that in the evenings most restaurants have a dress code (think no shorts or sandals for men), which makes for a stylish occasion. Even more special is it that Bahía del Duque also has a Michelin star restaurant called NUB, led by chefs Andrea Bernardi and Fernanda Fuentes-Cárdenas on Terenife. The bars vary from a piano bar, beach bar, bar with hamburgers, wines, cocktails, ice creams or fresh juices.
My favorite restaurants are without a doubt La Trattoria, because the delicious cuisine and setting make you feel like you’re in Italy, and La Brasserie because of the fine menu and large outdoor terrace.
Bahía del Duque hotel Tenerife is a holiday in itself with numerous luxury facilities. But you are also right on the Playa del Duque beach. From the hotel grounds you can walk straight onto the boulevard and the beach with restaurants, bars and shops. But if you really want to slow down, you don’t even have to leave the property.

Bahía del Duque hotel in Tenerife is a true swimming pool paradise. There are five swimming pools, two of which have salt water, and two heated pools, surrounded by terraces with sunbeds, parasols and tropical gardens. Towels are available everywhere and staff walk around to provide you with drinks.
If you want to stay fit, Bahía del Duque is the place to be. The gym is open 24 hours a day and there are daily classes to take. You can also play tennis. On the same courts as those used by the world’s best tennis players from the ATP World Tour, who visit the complex because of Tenerife’s mild climate.
Did you know that you can see a beautiful starry sky in Tenerife? Bahía del Duque hotel has its own observatory and under the guidance of an expert you are able to learn more about the solar system, its constellations, planets, satellites and stars a few times a week.
In the spa, consisting of 3500 m², you can have yourself fully pampered but it is also the place for rehabilitation, coaching and personal health guidance. The amount of services includes massages, physiotherapy, detox, pilates, yoga, mindfulness, a hammam and beauty salon, thalassotherapy and unique programs, based on your wishes and needs. In addition, a lot of work is done with local products such as banana leaves, aloe vera and volcanic rocks.
