But it is also one of the best boutique hotels to stay in El Salvador.

The rooms are spacious and stylishly furnished with soft beds. All located in the main building, which consists of two floors. There are rooms with twin and king-sized beds. But especially the location makes this hotel in El Salvador so unique. Both the rooms and the restaurant are located in a large tropical garden with flowers, squirrels and butterflies. Barceló – San Salvador
Looking for a hotel in San Salvador? A hotel where I have been coming for years (mainly for work) is hotel Barceló. An icon in the city! Hotel Barceló is huge and consists of countless floors with hundreds of rooms. A bit old-fashioned but maybe that is what makes it nice.
Rooms
All rooms are spacious and comfortable, with views of the city and mountains. There is a great breakfast buffet, bar, coffee shop, swimming pool and small fitness center.
Facilities
You can also dine at the poolside restaurant. Recommended if a lot of restaurants are closed on a Sunday evening. Hotel Barceló, is centrally located on the outskirts of Colonia San Benito, within walking distance of all restaurants and bars. Highly recommended for a first night in San Salvador, for example.

Hyatt Centric San Salvador
One of the best hotels in El Salvador is the Hyatt Centric San Salvador. A type of hotel that I do not often recommend because of its size and business vibe. But for this Hyatt I like to make an exception, because everything is just right.
Rooms
There are different types of rooms with comfortable beds and walk-in showers. And the art on the walls is really nice for a hotel chain.
Facilities
The Hyatt Centric has a restaurant, bar, fitness center and spa. Something that can be both a disadvantage and an advantage is the location. The Hyatt is located in a shopping center, located on the highway, surrounded by other shopping centers. Great if you are passing through and use San Salvador as a stopover. Less convenient if you want to see something of the area by foot.

And if you are lucky you will occasionally see a turtle sticking its head out of the water.

Puerto Barillas consists of several cottages, surrounded by tropical gardens and cocoa trees. It is a short 10-minute walk from the reception and restaurant, making it a wonderfully quiet environment to stay. Facilities
In addition to the houses, the Puerto Barillas complex consists of a restaurant, a swimming pool and a marina. Keep in mind that you are quite far from a village.
